5 Years Later... Where I've Been and Where We're Going
Hey mamas,
It’s been over five years since I last hit “publish” on a blog post. Five years!
When I last wrote here, I was fully immersed in full-time ministry, pouring into moms through speaking engagements and podcast episodes, while building a space for us to find freedom and joy and even community right here in our everyday reality as moms.
What I didn’t know then was that my journey was about to shift.
The Interim Years
Over the past five years, here’s a little snapshot of life in our home and in my heart:
I returned to the classroom after years away from teaching. It was both familiar and challenging—a season that stretched me for sure.
My kids switched schools, moving away from what they had known for the previous 6 years. This was something they desired to do, but did I mention that this also meant they were no longer on one campus, but rather now spread across three schools within 2 districts?
We received an ALS diagnosis for my mom, followed by 9 months of caregiving before her passing.
I had this video go viral on social media… in fact, that’s how I met many of you! And I’m so glad you’re here.
Where I Am Now
As of today, those 5 little kiddos are officially 5 teenagers! Our baby girl turned 13 just a few months ago, and our oldest graduated high school. Ken and I celebrated 20 years of marriage, and we’re still learning to navigate the nuances of it all.
I’m no longer teaching, but now serve as the Manager of Programs for a non-profit. No shortage on impact, but certainly lots more flexibility.
And yes, if we’re connected on social media, you know that I show up there pretty regularly. My IG stories are filled with unfiltered moments from day to day, from the trail to the chiropractor, and everything in between… because remember, there’s 5 teens in the house!
Looking Ahead
So, what can you expect in this space moving forward?
Continued reflections on motherhood—especially now with 5 teens… and the goal is one blog post a week, so we’ll see!
Resources… I’ve got a few projects in the works, and I’m excited to share them with you!
Occasional updates about my speaking, writing, and what God is teaching me along the way… quite honestly, a journal of the journey
Your turn
I’d love to hear from you!
What season of motherhood are you in right now?
What encouragement or topics would speak to your heart?
Drop a comment below or send me a message—I’d love to reconnect and walk this journey together.
If you’ve been here since the early days, thank you for sticking around. And if you’re new, welcome! I hope this space becomes a source of hope and encouragement for you! Here’s to new things, old friends, and the unchanging faithfulness of God.
With grace and gratitude,
Keli
